Little is known about the plot of the much-awaited season following the show’s hiatus. Creator Larry David who plays an extreme version of himself in the show with the same name commented when the initial announcement was made, “In the immortal words of Julius Caesar, ‘I left, I did nothing, I returned.’”
In 2011 Larry described his approach to his TV alter ego in a Rolling Stone interview: “He’s my version of Superman. The character really is me, but I just couldn’t possibly behave like that. If I had my druthers, that would be me all the time, but you can’t do that … As crazy as this person is, I could step into those shoes right now, but I would be arrested or I’d be hit or whatever.”
The majority of the beloved characters are expected to return in this season. Co-star’s Jeff Garlin (Jeff Green) Larry’s manager, Cheryl Hines (Cheryl David) Larry’s ex-wife and Susie Essman (Susie Greene) Jeff’s wife will all of course feature. As well as that Richard Lewis (Richard Lewis) and JB Smoove (Leon Black) both Larry’s friends will return.
A release date has yet to be confirmed however, filming seems to have gone smoothly with HBO announcing last November filming had commenced with a video of JB Smoov. Therefore, we can expect a 2017 release date to be penciled in, in the near future.
